At SEG, Sam supports the firm’s research and analytical initiatives, applying his strengths in financial modeling, market research, and structured analysis to contribute to internal projects and strategic insights. His ability to quickly understand new industries and synthesize complex information allows him to add meaningful context to SEG’s market landscapes and software sector research.

Before joining SEG, Sam gained experience in venture capital and private equity, including contributing to diligence on high-growth software companies such as OpenAI and Databricks and supporting investment work at a Tiger Cub–backed private equity firm. This background gives him a strong analytical foundation and an investor’s perspective that enhances the quality and depth of his research at SEG.

Originally from Oregon, Sam enjoys spending his free time playing tennis, rock climbing, and exploring the outdoors. He is also passionate about philanthropy, having helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for organizations supporting local children’s hospitals and animal shelters.
