M&A Experience
Edgar Warnholtz, CFA, is a Senior Analyst at Software Equity Group who brings a differentiated perspective through his experience sitting on the other side of the table as a buyside investor. This vantage point provides him with a clearer understanding of what buyers look for in software businesses and how to position companies for optimal M&A outcomes.
Edgar began his career at S&P Global Ratings in New York, where he covered infrastructure, project finance, and Latin American sovereign and corporate credits. His work involved evaluating complex capital structures and macroeconomic dynamics, building a rigorous foundation in financial analysis, risk assessment, and valuation.
He later spent over three years at a private equity-backed software platform, where he focused on sourcing, analyzing, and executing acquisitions of vertical SaaS businesses. During his tenure, the platform scaled significantly through a disciplined acquisition strategy, and Edgar contributed across deal sourcing, financial analysis, and diligence, with the objective to accelerate growth by investing in go-to-market strategies. Edgar also gained early operating experience at technology startups, providing additional perspective on the challenges founders face while building and scaling their businesses.
