SEG Sector Deals: Cisco Acquires Observable Networks

Cisco, leading provider of IT infrastructure software and hardware, announced the intent to acquire Observable Networks, a provider of network security technology and threat detection services. The acquisition extends Cisco’s initiatives in cloud-based security services by providing Cisco with dynamic behavioral modeling of devices on the network.
Cisco’s interest in cyber security has been relevant over the past two years- including the acquisitions of CloudLock ($293M) and Lancope ($452M), and investment in HyTrust.
